It probably came as a surprise to many when Juventus this summer chose to loan midfielder Weston McKenni from the German bottom club Schalke 04, but the 22-year-old American has put the critics to shame. In fact, he has convinced coach Andrea Pirlo so much that the club should now be ready to pick up the midfielder permanently, that according to the Italian media Tuttosport.

The Americans were initially brought to Turin as a temporary solution, but coach Andrea Pirlo has been very impressed with McKennis' level, versatility and tactical understanding. These are the qualities that now make the midfielder in the process of getting a permanent deal with the Italian giants.

Weston McKenni has played 29 matches for Juventus this season. In addition to that, it has turned into five goals and two assists. The American most recently played full-time in Juventus' 3-0 win over Crotone, and that confidence rewarded the midfielder with a goal.
