Joan Laporta ran with the victory in the presidential election in the big club FC Barcelona last Sunday, when he beat his opponents. Today he is already pulled in his work clothes, and promises the fans defensive reinforcement in the form of David Alaba.

Laporta reportedly met with representatives of Alaba, asking them to be patient until he had won the election. The Austrian has already decided and announced that his future lies elsewhere than at Bayern Munich, and that has of course got Europe's big clubs out of their seats.

It happened on Sunday that Laporta won, and therefore the hunt for one of Europe's hottest defenders has now begun. However, the Austrian does not lack suitors, and one of them is the eternal rivals from Real Madrid, who have long been mentioned as favorites for the defender.

Laporta is likely to face a tough battle to secure David Alaba's signature. Add to that that the president should try to convince Lionel Messi that he should continue in the big club. However, Messi cannot be the only player to leave the Catalans.

Philippe Coutinho is not mentioned as a player Laporta has the big scam for, and with a sky-high salary, it is expected that the Brazilian will have to leave the club. So there will probably be a time with many decisions about arrivals and departures during Laport's new reign.
