When Real Madrid picked up Norwegian Martin Odegaard in Stromsgodset back in 2015, it made many headlines around Europe. At the time, Odegaard was just 16 years old, and had become the youngest player ever to play at senior level in Norway as a mere 15-year-old. Later, also became the youngest player ever to perform for Real Madrid when he made his debut for the team as a 16-year-old.

The Norwegian has been owned by Real Madrid since 2015, with loan stays in Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad along the way, but only got 11 games for the club's first team. He has never made it through under coach Zinedine Zidane, and after not playing in the Copa del Rey match against Alcoyano, Odegaard reportedly should have had enough.

According to Marca, the Norwegian midfielder has asked the management to be loaned out again from Real Madrid. Odegaard had a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad last season, where he scored seven goals and nine assists, among other things. Zidane, however, is reluctant to do without the Norwegian, since the midfield is sparsely occupied in the club.
