The Argentine coach is said to be on his way away from Madrid.

In November 2021, Manchester United fired club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjær after a long and difficult period. The German Ralf Rangnick was then hired as

interim manager until the end of the season. That's why 'The Red Devils' are once again on the hunt for a manager - and here they are supposed to be interested in Diego Simeone.

According to the Catalan sports newspaper El Nacional, the 51-year-old Atletico Madrid coach should be close to leaving the Spanish capital, having served the club for over a decade. The Argentine charismatic coach has won almost everything with the club - however, they are currently 16 points behind Real Madrid in 1st place in the domestic tournament.

Diego Simeone is the highest paid coach in the world, and the media also writes that Manchester United should be ready to pay the same salary that he received at Wanda Metropolitano.

Simeone was reportedly to have an annual salary of 186 million kroner.
