It has been an uneasy summer for Crystal Palace fans as speculation surrounding Wilfried Zaha’s future at the club mounted.

The Eagles’ best player was heavily linked with moves to Tottenham and Chelsea – but deadline day has come and gone and Zaha is still a Palace player.

The 25-year-old has now committed to his future to the club after signing a contract extension , keeping him at Palace until 2023.

Zaha’s importance to his side cannot be overstated and these stats show that Palace would really struggle to cope in the Premier League wi

From the start of the 2017/18 season, Palace have won 41.4% of their games while only losing 20.7% of their games when Zaha has been in the starting XI with a goal scored average of 1.48.

However, what is more astounding is that in the ten games he hasn’t started, the Eagles have always lost, averaging 0.4 goals per game.

Palace also concede fewer goals when Zaha is starting and he doesn’t even play in defence!

He is arguably the most important player to any team in the Premier League.
