Some journalist were trying to see whether they could get to make Senegal's main star to reveal what his intentions were regarding his stay at Liverpool.
The question that arose was that If Mane finds himself in a club with too much pressure in the category of Real Madrid and the like. Will he be able to curve a niche for himself? what will be Mane’s decision at the end of the day.? But indication shows that majority of opinions are inclined towards encouraging the Senegal star to remain at his present club.
“ Sadio Mane is fine where he is. He is in a collective team which allows him to express himself. It’s never very good to go to a more upscale club, to have more responsibilities, more expectations, more pressure, I’m afraid that might be a bit high for him, ”said Pierre Menes, a French Journalist“. I will advise him to stay in Liverpool. I’m stating this as a principle and individual distinctions do not interest me, what matters are collective distinctions. Ask Sadio if he would trade his league title or the Champions League for a Ballon d’Or. ” Concluded Menes.
I am sure, starting any form of media back and forth is not on his agenda right now, but in the future, Mane may want to prove Menes that he was wrong and that he has shoulders strong enough to play in a club like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
I think i agree with Pierre Menes in his estimation of the situation. I also think it will be better for Mane to remain in a team where he has formed some kind of bond with his teammates and of course where the pressure on optimal performance is quite less. The African footballer of the year does not seem to poses the mental strength to withstand too much stress and pressure of competitive teammates.
But as they say, the environment and circumstances do make people change. This change can be positive or negative. We will never know for now until we come to the bridge.
