Barcelona has failed to win their previous three outings losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, While in Laliga, a loss to Real Betis and a 2-2 draw against Osasuna last weekend.

Summer signing Ferran Jutgla headed in the opener for the home side from Ousmane Dembele's corner. It was also the summer signing the first goal at the Nou Camp. Gavi made it 2-0 at halftime with an impressive solo effort when he had a run at the defense before picking out the bottom corner.

Barcelona switched off in the second half and was made to pay for it with quick strikes from Elche's substitutes Morente Oliva and Pere Milla to level the game at 2-2

But González Iglesias poked the ball into the top corner with five minutes on the clock to end Barcelona's winless run.

The win leaves Barcelona seventh on the table with 15 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.

ELCHE DEALT A BLOW BY BARCA

Elche came into this game seeking to increase their point tally to go clear of the relegation zone. Manager Francisco Rodríguez would have thought that his smart substitution to bring in Morente Oliva and Pere Milla had given them at least a point but Gonzalez's goal dealt a hefty blow to their Laliga goals.

Elche remains 16th, two points above the relegation zone after the loss.
