Chelsea had to dig deep to beat a resolute Crystal Palace side that was seeking to reaching the FA cup final for the first time since 2016 as second half goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason was enough to see them through to the final.

Chelsea began the game in a dominant fashion but could not break down a resolute Crystal Palace side with goalkeeper Butland a mere bystander as chances were hard to come by. With the first half of the encounter rather dull, The second half was different as a resurgent Chelsea side played with intensity that was missing in the first half and they got the goal, they deserved as substitute Loftus-Cheek's deflected shot hit the back of the net after coming on for Mateo Kovacic.

Mason Mount collected a pass from Timo Werner to slot the ball in the bottom corner. Chelsea could have gotten more with Timo Werner missed chance and substitute Lukaku hitting the post as Chelsea made it to the final of the FA cup against a Liverpool side that trumped them in the Carabao cup final.
