French side Lyon has been subtracted a point after their home game was rescinded because of crowd difficulty last month.

The game was suspended five minutes into the game after a bottle was thrown on former West Ham United forward Dimitri Payet from the stands. The event transpired when Payet was about to take a corner.

Promptly after the incident occurred, arrest were made and the game was looking likely to continue but there was a warning that further unrest will lead to abandonment. Despite this warnings, the unrest continued and referee Ruddy Busquet dispatched the players to the dressing room and it looked as though the match might proceed with the Lyon players already out and warming up but hours later, the match was officially called off.

This is the second time that Dimitri Payet had been a victim of this bottle-thrown incident but this last one in Groupama Stadium, he left with an ice pack on his head. The French authority simply have to do something about this series of events occurring in the French League. The replay between the two clubs will be behind closed doors and I totally support that.
