Manchester United scores three within the first 35 minutes to sink Burnley and keep their top-four hopes alive.

Scott Mctominay gave United the lead with a sublime curler in the eighth minute which was Manchester United's quickest goal for the season.

Before Christiano Ronaldo tapped into the net to put the game beyond Burnley in the 32nd minutes from Scott Mctominay strike which Burnley goalie Wayne Hennessey could not keep out.

But there was a scare for United when Burnley pulled one back from a sloppy play from Manchester United defender Eric Bailly which enabled Aaron Lennon to put the ball at the back of the net. But it wasn't enough to trouble Manchester United as they continue their unbeaten run and mark a birthday celebration for Former Boss Sir Alex Ferguson on New years eve.

The victory leaves United in sixth with 31 points with a game in hand and trailing fourth-placed Arsenal with four points.
