Resurgent Arsenal continues to stake their claim for a spot in the top four as they see off Manchester United in an exciting encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal who defeated London rivals Chelsea on Wednesday while United were seeking to bounce back after been thrashed by Liverpool.

Arsenal took the lead in the 3' minutes courtesy of Nuno Tarvares as lack of communication between Varane and Alex Telles saw the Arsenal man score a rebound after De Gea had saved Bukayo Saka's shot. Manchester United put up a fighting spirit with the likes of Diogo Dalot hitting the woodwork on two occasions and Aaron Ramsdale in fine form as he made the superb saves to keep the game in Arsenal's favour.

Arsenal got the second goal from a spot-kick taken by Saka as Manchester United defending was just shambolic despite "error prone" Harry Maguire on the bench as Alex Telles fouled Bukayo Saka in the buildup to Eddie Nketiah's goal which was adjudged to be offside by VAR but after checks a penalty was awarded to Arsenal for the foul on Bukayo Saka which the resulting spot-kick was scored by the Arsenal forward.

Manchester United pulled one back as Christiano Ronaldo scored his 100th goal in the Premier League from Matic's pass.

United showed guts in attack but same can't be said of the defending and Arsenal concluded the match as Granite Xhaka scores to put the game beyond Manchester United and to put an end to their top four hopes.

Erik Ten Hag, Good luck to you😔😔
