Senegal has accused Watford of denying Ismaila Sarr the chance to represent in the African cup of nations. The competition will begin on the 9th of January and with Ismaila Sarr in the list of Callup Senegal players alongside the likes of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane. Watford had reported that the 23-year-old will not be available for Senegal as he has knee ligament damage that occurred in early November last year.

But the Senegal Football Federation believes that Watford is playing a foul game and also making a false claim on the severity of Sarr's injury. The FSF has condemned the act saying it is disrespectful and discriminatory for Watford to prevent a player to represent his country. This is given the recent clash between Watford and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over striker Emmanuel Dennis who the club has refused for the player to participate in the AFCON. Dennis will play no part in the tournament.

HOW HAS WATFORD RESPOND

Watford has reiterated that there is no foul play as they have detailed the player's medical condition and recovery process to the FSF. They have also asked the FSF to send a medical representative to make their medical analysis of the player to confirm their report.
