Liverpool are through to the final after surviving a second leg scare from Villarreal as they win 3-2 (5-2 on aggregate) at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
The reds who have the hope of winning an unprecedented quadruple had earlier won 2-0 at Anfield but we're made to suffer for the victory by the yellow submarine as they endured uncomfortable spells in the game.
Villarreal got an early goal in the 3' minutes when Boulaye Dia was quick to react to Etienne Capoue's pass to put the ball in the back of the net which seriously rattled Liverpool as Villarreal kept pressing and putting the pressure on Liverpool and got the second goal as Capoue's cross was headed in by Francis Coquelin to give Villarreal a two-nil lead at halftime.
Liverpool had to change something in the second half and that they did as Luis Dias was introduced for Diogo Jota and he provided a much needed spark which gave the reds the confidence to dominate possession in the second half and we're rewarded with a chance when Salah's pass found Fabinho whose shot went through the legs of Villarreal keeper Geronimo Rullli to give Liverpool the lead on aggregate.
Luis Dias got Liverpool second as Trent-Alexander Arnold's in swing cross was headed in by the Portuguese international to set the scoreline at 2-2 (4-2 on aggregate).
Liverpool pressed for more goals and got it as Sadio Mane was first to react to a loose ball as Rulli sprint off his line and Mane rounded him to put the ball in the back of the net to seal a dominant second half performance for Liverpool and a place in UCL final for the third time in five seasons.
Congratulations Liverpool, Manchester City over to you!!!
