Recently, news spread out that President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez got a strange call few weeks ago and guess who it was coming from, one of the best players to have ever donned the white shirt in his tenure as President, Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro.

We believe the call was all about the Portuguese appearing at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since summer 2018 when he left for Juventus. Ronaldo called for an opportunity to watch his former team take on Barcelona in one of the fiercest of encounters in football.

During Ronaldo's days at Real Madrid, he was clearly the pillar of the team in front and was always a thorn in the flesh of the Barcelona players. It is no surprise that Real Madrid has lacked goals badly since his departure and it was clearly evident in the first leg of the El Clasico this season.

At Camp Nou back in December last year, Real Madrid did everything right except scoring past Ter Stegen. They huffed, they puffed, making Barcelona look like an ordinary team with series of bombardments and exceptional pass displays only for them to end the match without a goal due to lack of end product. This was what Ronaldo handled while at Real Madrid. The forward scored a jaw breaking 450 goals in 438 matches and left the team a legend. No president would turn down the opportunity of such a player returning to his previous club, this time around, as a fan.

Due to Italy suspending games as a result of corona virus cases, Ronaldo had the liberty to travel for the El Clasico. He was pictured in one of the private boxes and no matter how hard he tried to hide away from the fans and media, he was detected coming into the stadium and inside the stadium.

It was no surprise that Real Madrid, knowing that one of their best players in history was up there in the stands watching them, they put their heart and soul into the game. Replicating what they always did when the Portuguese superstar was with them. It looked like the goal won't come like last time but they kept toiling. As a matter of fact, at the latter stages of the match, they looked like hungry lions chasing deers with the speed of a cheetah. They threw everything they have got at Barcelona and eventually their efforts was rewarded through Vinicius Junior who happened to replicate Ronaldo's celebration to the amazement of the Portuguese in the stands.

Ronaldo will forever be in the hearts of every Real Madrid faithful, no doubt.
