There is that terrible news that teams, fans and even opponents dread so much and that is a player getting injured, especially a player that is in the form of his life.

Chelsea is currently in that tough situation as their favorite left back and Wing back Ben Chilwell injured his knee in the 4-0 drubbing of Juventus in the Uefa Champions League on November 23rd and left his team and fans hoping it was nothing too serious.

Chelsea had hoped that Chilwell will recover right in time for the crucial part of the season but it turns out he will be needing a surgery for the knee. The injury turned out to be so much worse than anticipated.

Chelsea will now rely on backup Marcos Alonso to fill the void but relying on just one man for a position with the season just getting into the crucial stages is a suicide mission. Tuchel has tried Hudson Odoi, Pulisic and Saul Niguez in the role but none appears to be comfortable in the role.

Chelsea will be looking to pick up a suitable back up in the January transfer market or recall Emerson or Maatsen both of whom were loaned out to Lyon and Conventry respectively.
