It beats my imagination realizing it was just yesterday I had Brazilian’s youngster Vinicus Junior on the highest of stages only to bring him lower today asking for a more calculated approach on his apparent limited appearances this season.

This was a player dazzling with the Real Madrid B team before being called into the first team by then manager, Santiago Solari. Vinicius’ first match in the first team which was against a lower division side, Melilla in the Copa Del Rey will see the Brazilian attacker retain his place in the first team from that moment. His presence injected more life into the attack from his favorite position, the left wing and Solari deemed it fit that the Brazilian winger continues to forward his attack from that wing in place of Gareth Bale.

The Argentine coach was never to be disappointed as Vinicius made good use of the opportunity he was given. He was super confident in himself despite playing on the biggest of stages and gave fans a big reason not to miss Real Madrid matches with him available for selection, something that was missing since the days of post-Ronaldo.

The winger’s run was halted against Ajax in the second leg of the Uefa Champions League quarter final last season after he limped off in tears injured. Real Madrid ended up exiting the tournament and nogt long after Santiago Solari was sacked and with him came the return of Zinedine Zidane for his second stint with club as a coach.

Zidane would reinstate favorite players with his return and with that came the relegating of Vinicius to the bench after he returned from injury. Right now, the Brazilian that was once super confident even on the biggest of stages looks a shadow of himself, a dog trying to please his master by all means but biting the wrong hands. Vinicius’ recent displays shows he is trying to win the heart of his coach with stiff competition currently in the team, I am afraid that overzealousness will end up with us losing this precious prodigy we once thought of as the future of our left wing but I honestly pray it doesn’t come to that. Whoever that knows or can reach Vinicius should please remind him he still has many years to play for and should keep a calm head and try harder to adapt to whatever position he is been placed in by the coach.
