I am very much aware that action speaks louder than words but I am also aware that the right words spur you on for huge action.

The news reaching us yesterday was that Manchester City has been hit by a ban from Uefa for breaching the Financial Fair Play rules. The Citizens were banned with non-participation in Uefa competitions for two years and were fined €30 million. Although they will appeal this ban as they see it as prejudicial, what this means for Guardiola and his men is they will have to up their game and intensity in other to depart for holidays away from European competitions with pride and joy.

Pep Guardiola has won everything there is to win with Manchester City, even breaking points, goal and trophy records but all those were done domestically, in Europe, the Spaniard tactician has always been found wanting.

This season, they were pitied against the masters of the Uefa Champions League, Real Madrid in the round of 16. If Pep should be kicked out of the competition, it would be another European failure for the Spaniard coach as he is likely to leave Manchester City before the ban runs out, that is if it stands.

As a fan of Real, I will not fancy Manchester City kicking us out of the competition but this should serve as a wakeup call to Zinedine Zidane that Guardiola will be coming at him with all he is got come February 26th.
