Manchester United were at the brink of defeat and needed an injury time goal from Lindelof to secure a draw from the match.

It was going to end someday anyway, the honeymoon of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United's interim manager has enjoyed an 8 match winning streak ever since his assumption as the manager of the red devils and it was brought to an end by a resilient Burnley team who ran their hearts out on the field in making sure Manchester United do not pass their way around them or have their way through goal easily as regards their last 8 matches.

Due to the much needed rest of some players, Ole chose to rest some players. With Smalling still returning from injury, Lindelof partnered Jones in the centre defence. Ashley Young continued at right back and Luke Shaw at left back.

Andreas Perriera, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba and Juan Mata filled the midfield roles while Lukaku and Marcos Rashford forwarded the team.

The best chance of the first half fell for Marcos Rashford in the early minutes. He started an attack with a pass to Lukaku and the kind gesture was returned to him and he missed his footing. That chance was the best United were to get for the remnant of the first half as Burnley made sure they tracked every run from the players in red top and black shorts and covered much grounds.

The first half ended with a 0-0 scoreline. The players returned to the pitch for the second half and the match continued pretty much the same way it ended in the first half. With Manchester United always seeking to send in cross after cross into the penalty area, crosses that were dealt with easily by the Burnley defenders.

The middle runs of Herrera was badly missed and the connection between the midfield and the attack as we have seen in recent matches was found wanting. The wings were Manchester United's only option, whichever decision they decide to make, Burnley were standing tall.

The match continued in that anxious manner until Perrera was dispossessed in front of his 18 yard box and a pass was laid to Ashley Barnes who powered a shot beyond the outstretched arms of David De Gea and into the net to gift Burnley a goal lead.

That was the first time Manchester United were conceiving the first goal in a match since Solskjaer's emergence as coach.

United ran all they could hoping for an equalizer until Burnley's Chris Wood was found unmarked in the penalty area and headed in a cross to make it 2-0.

The match looked like it was going in favour of Burnley and Ole's winning streak and unbeaten run looked all but done until Manchester United's Paul Pogba pulled one back for the reds through the penalty spot after Lingard was fouled. That very much ignited the popular spirit of the comeback kings renowned for the men in red shirt and black shorts at the home of all footballing dramas, the theatre of dreams, Old Trafford.

Manchester United ran the show from there as Burnley looked to protect their one goal lead and crawled back into their shell. Unluckily for them, Manchester United's Lindelof scored the second for his team and levelled the scores in the 92nd minute.

They failed to make it three before the final whistle and the game ended in a draw, ending Burnley's hope of winning United at Old Trafford since September 1962.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's winning streak might be halted but his unbeaten run continues. For how long would it continue? We will have to keep on watching.
