The current smile on the faces of Real Madrid fans concerning the current state of the time is not just admirable but also worth envying.

Just when it looked like things were falling apart badly and without any remedy at the moment, a miracle occurred. Real Madrid have gone 6 matches without a loss and have scored 18 goals in the process, 3 per match and the best of this achievement is they have conceived just one goal in the process, one goal that wouldn’t have been counted if Captain Sergio Ramos had been more careful with his decision.

Last night, Real Madrid welcomed Real Sociedad to the Bernabeu after returning from the international break. Many looked forward to this match as one that will define Real Madrid’s exhibition of great strength lately as they will be going up against a side sitting fifth in the table and just two points off first place.

Sociedad are one of the brightest teams in the Spanish La Liga and an upset was to be expected. Zidane rolled out one of his best 11. Courtois retained his position at goal. Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane partnered each other in defense. Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy played at right back and left back respectively.

Toni Kroos who played a vital part in Germany’s international matches was replaced by Fede Valverde. Fede was partnered by Luka Modric and Casemiro in midfield.

Karim Benzema led the frontline and was flanked by Eden Hazard and Rodrygo Goes.

Real Sociedad started with the obvious intention of taking the match to their opponents. They pressed forward as a unit and caused Sergio Ramos into making a costly mistake early in the match. A terrible back pass from the captain witnessed Sociedad’s striker Willian Jose beat the onrushing Courtois with ease and slotted the ball into the net with his left foot to give Sociedad an early lead.

Typical Real Madrid of last season and early this season are known for every other thing but comebacks. Their only loss in the league this season came against a relegation-threatened Mallorca side that scored an early goal and held on to it for the rest of the match.

Paris Saint Germain had their own taste of the milk when they easily won the whites 3-0 in France. That was not to happen last night as Real Madrid kept their head down and strived to get the three points.

Karim Benzema would draw level for the whites from a Luka Modric set-piece cross. Fede Valverde would make it 2-1 two minutes after the break with a wonderful outside of the 18 yard box strike and Luka Modric would complete the comeback with a fine left footed strike.

Conclusion

It feels so very nice watching Real Madrid in this high spirit and dedication. The team has been cohesive of late and barely allow the opponent a chance on goal. Fede Valverde continued his impressive record of granting Real Madrid a higher percentage chance of winning whenever he starts.

This win against Real Sociedad is just a continuation of the impressive form and I hope it never stops. Paris Sanit Germain is next!
