There was something more like a very important headline that was missing last weekend. The former glorious trident of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano all found the net, but this time around, it was with different teams.

This was a trio that once terrorized defenses together at Real Madrid. There was never a defence that learnt it would be coming against the BBC and not tremble. Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo were lethal goalscorers and scored a combined goal of 268 between 2015-2017. With those goals came trophies, including three Uefa Champions League triumphs before injury and apparent lack of commitment from Bale disbanded the trio.

Cristiano would go on to make sure the BBC never played together again as he left Real Madrid for Juventus, leaving just Bale and Benzema behind.

Bale would later leave for Tottenham, leaving just Benzema at Real Madrid.

For the first time in a very long time, all three were involved for their teams in the weekend as they all scored crucial goals that secured three important points for their respective teams.

As a Real Madrid fan, I must confess I missed the trio playing together but it was joyous to see them score on a weekend together, even though they weren't playing together.
