Two very factual statements we are most likely knowledgeable of are “nothing lasts forever” and “change is constant”. At Real Madrid currently, both statements fit into the current picture at the team and is centered on one section of the pitch, the midfield.

Soon, as the season gets into its very crucial stages, we will be get accustomed to seeing the very new face of the Real Madrid midfield which still includes Casemiro and Kroos but with Valverde coming in to replace the ageing Luka Modric.

The former midfield trio of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro which conquered teams home and abroad is destined to come to an end and that time is fast approaching, that is if it isn’t here already.

The stats don’t lie and considering the stats, it is safe to assume that a Kroos-Casemiro-Valverde is Coach Zinedine Zidane’s main midfield at the moment.

With Valverde-Casemiro-Kroos partnership, Real Madrid has never lost a match this season and they have won 16 points out of 18 which is more impressive than 12 out of 27 without those three playing together.

Like against Galatasaray in this week’s Uefa Champions League, Real Madrid dominated from start to finish with this trio on the pitch and even when Casemiro was withdrawn and Valverde oushed back deeper, the dominance increased which is pointing to how very important Fede Valverde is to Real Madrid.

The Uruguayan would have left this past summer had it not been for the intervention of Zidane who needed the midfielder over Marcos Llorente. Although we criticized the coach and I am still criticizing him for letting go the only Casemiro’s pure replacement but Zidane was prepared to take the risk and for now, it is playing into his favor and for the sake of all of our heads and hearts, I hope it continues.
