Barcelona fans would definitely be relieved to see their team qualify for the Supercopa de Espana final after having to deal with a very tough Real Sociedad side who only succumbed to defeat in penalties.

The run to lifting the trophy is two fixtures between four teams. A semifinal and final if I am permitted to put it straight.

Barcelona took on Real Sociedad yesterday and it is Real Madrid's turn to take on Athletic Club tonight.

The Capital of Spain club are coming into this match at the back of a disappointing draw at Pamplona this weekend while the home team, Athletic Club are coming into this match well rested, after their tie against Atletico Madrid was cancelled last weekend due to terrible weather conditions.

Both teams come into this encounter below par in terms of recent form/performances but I am expecting the talent filled in the Real Madrid squad to prevail.

The last time both teams met in the first half of this season, in a league encounter, Real Madrid triumphed. It will definitely be different this time as a trophy is involved. Expect Athletic Bilbao to put up much of a fight as well.
