The France international came on after the break and made the difference as the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners
Alexandre Lacazette has revealed what Unai Emery said to him moments before he was subbed on in Arsenal's win over West Ham.
The Gunners were flat in the first half against the Hammers, as the two sides went into the break level, before Emery removed Alex Iwobi and put the Frenchman on in his place.
The change had an immediate positive impact, with Lacazette playing a big part in Issa Diop's own goal twenty minutes before the end of the contest.
Opening up on the brief chat he had with his boss before coming on against West Ham at the Emirates on Saturday, the former Lyon striker has revealed what Emery told him.
"The manager just told me to play my game and said we will win if I play well," said the French international.
"There is a lot of difference under the new manager. You can't really compare the two coaches - they are their own men when it comes to football.
"Even if the aim is still to play and hurt the opposition with the ball, there are some big differences."
He added: "I knew I could help the team. What I do is different to everyone else. I just want to play and help my team all the time.
"When you come off the bench you have to be ready for your team-mates, it is what I tried to do and obviously it helped us to get the win."
Jamie Redknapp has called for Emery to make Lacazette a regular starter in this Arsenal team, if he wants to compete for the title any time soon.
The pundit told the Daily Mail: "Bringing on Lacazette at half-time was a game-changer. Straight away Arsenal looked more threatening. They had eight attempts on target and scored the two goals that won them the game."
Who is the better Arsenal striker?
