You might be wondering what they want to do again. They had an awesome season last season. The City finished the league as the title holders and are on their way to winning the current one. EPL is known as the most competitive out of every league; winning it means defeating the top teams and not disappointing when being faced with the smaller teams. Any team could shock a big team in EPL. Well, it happens in every other league but EPL teams just have a way of dealing with you. Man City lost just two matches last season; one to Liverpool and the other to Manchester United. There was no doubt they would win the league after playing 18 matches. Other top teams and the smaller teams lost to them.

They’ve started it again this season. The team has played 10 matches without a loss - they drew two already though and the top teams are losing to them as usual. Only Liverpool gave them a tough time and they are currently at the same point with Man City topping with goal difference. Arsenal suffered a defeat to them already and Tottenham has been added to the list. That’s the match that inspired this post - yesterday’s match gave Manchester City more courage and confidence of winning the title. It’s really not easy to defeat a top team at her own ground. Although, Wembley is Tottenham’s abode for home games, the fact still remains; Man City travelled down to secure the whole three points.

Let’s see the match details.

Tottenham played a 4-3-3 formation with Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez and Davies as the four defenders; Dier, Dembele and Sissoko played in the midfield area while Kane, Moura and Lamela attacked. Dele Ali and Eriksen are back from injury already and were later brought in at the second half of the game. Hugo Lloris was the goal keeper.

Manchester City played their perfect 4-3-3 formation as usual. Walker, Stones, Laporte and Mendy were the defenders; Bernardo Silva, Dvid Silva and Fernandinho played the midfield while Aguero, Mharez and Sterling attacked. Ederson was the goal keeper. Guardiola still had threats on the bench. De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus later played in the second half.

Riyad Mharez scored the only goal in the match at the 6th minute. Sterling made the goal possible, he scattered the defence line and sent the ball to the Algerian who made no mistake of putting it into the net. Both teams tried to score more goals but they couldn’t. Just that goal separated the winner from the loser. It gave Manchester City the whole three points.

Manchester City were the better side though, they really deserved the win. They had 54% ball possession with 5 shots on target, while Tottenham only saw a shot on target out of the 3 shots they played. Also, this match pushed them to the 5th position. It’s looking too tough for the top teams now and Manchester City is looking like they will lift the trophy again.
