Ernesto Valverde spoke in public for the first time since he was sacked from Barcelona a month ago. The former Blaugrana coach visited Bilbao International Football Summit, talked about his career plans and mentioned his last job. According to Valverde, he is happy to have coached such a club as Barça, and has no negative feelings about being fired. However, he doesn’t want to work in Europe any longer.

Instead, Ernesto would rather go to the Australian A-League or another interesting place. He even remembered the Spanish footballer Andrés Iniesta, who moved abroad after many years in Barcelona and joined a Japanese football club. Valverde assures Barcelona is in the past, now it's time to turn the page.
