Every year at this time I go through NFL withdrawal. As a die-hard NFL fan, I live for the season and once the Super Bowl is over the dog days of winter really start to set in. I wouldn't call it a full on depression but there is a certain sense of joy that is no longer present. It even starts to feel colder outside if that is possible. Thankfully, the time between the Super Bowl and the NFL Combine is less than a month. The NFL combine runs from Feb 26th to March 4th. That is when the whole cycle begins again for fans like me. I can't simply wait for the next season to start. I need to be engaged in absolutely everything that is happening in the offseason as well. My fantasy football obsession lays a big part in this as well. More on that in an upcoming post.

With NFL season over after that snoozefest of a Super Bowl we just had, I am looking for some quick fixes for entertainment. I have a month to kill before I get ramped up in NFL news again. I have been increasingly more engaged and interested in soccer over the past several months and for the first time ever, I have a new outlet for my NFL withdrawal. I have spent lots of time over the past couple of days looking at the upcoming games for all the major soccer leagues and am eagerly anticipating my bets for the weekend's English Premier League.

Spending so much time looking at the soccer fixtures combined with my NFL withdrawal got me thinking. As much as that hurt my brain, I think I came up with a pretty good idea for all of us going through the end of NFL football blues. What better way to keep everyone occupied and engaged in sports than to have another contest. BetScorum has been an amazing conduit for sparking an interest in the English Premier league and soccer in general. Why not have a contest where people can potentially learn a little more about both the EPL and BetScorum.

How it works:

The contest will be a pick'em for the English Premier League fixtures for this week. Each participant will predict the results for all the games this week. They will show there picks by posting in the comment section of this post as follows:

Teams Playing - Prediction

  1. Fulham vs Man United            -          Man U

  2. Liverpool vs. Bournemouth - Draw

1 point will be awarded for each correct selection of a winning team and 2 points will be awarded for correctly selecting a draw.

The games that you will be picking are the fixtures for week 26 as shown in the pick below. There are 10 games in total.

Tiebreaker: Total combined goals scored in all matches. (All participants will predict the total goals scored in all the matches combined. No number can be repeated. The tiebreaker number will be on a first choose basis so please look at the other totals that were picked and choose something different.)

***The person who is closest to the total goals without going over will win tiebreaker situations. IF both people in a tiebreaker situation go over the total goals it will revert to the closest to the score again.

Prize

The winner will receive a 25 SCR Free Bet on any match in the following week on BetScorum. The bet must be on a match that has odds between 1.70 and 9.00. The 25 SCR bet must be placed on one selection.

The free bet can be redeemed in one of two ways.

  1. The winner can place a 25 SCR bet on a game of their choice using their BetScorum account. If the bet loses then I will reimburse them for the loss via SCR transfer. If they win, they will have the proceeds of the bet as their rewards.
  2. If the winner would prefer, I will place a 25 SCR bet on any game of their choice that meets the requirements. If the bet wins, I will transfer the proceeds to the winner. If the bet losses then the winner doesn't need to do anything at all.

I will give a 100% vote to the winner if they write a post about their bet and the reasoning behind their selection. It would be great to learn if this is the first bet for you or if you are a regular user of the BetScorum platform.
