Mo Salah has had a truly inspiring and incredible season for Liverpool being a stand out player not only in the Premier League but in the Champions League as well, scoring some amazing goals and having such a high standard of play. Obviously the shoulder injury that put him out early in the Champions League final was disappointing as everyone was excited to see how he would get on against Real Madrid. His World Cup was in doubt with that injury he has missed the first game, but he is expected to play against Russia tonight.

Season Stats 2017/18

Premier League - 36 games - 32 Goals - 10 Assists (1 yellow card)

Champions League - 15 games - 11 Goals

Considering his spell at Chelsea didn’t really work out very well his Premier League dream was not about to be fully over, after playing for Roma and impressing for two seasons, Liverpool took a chance on the Egyptian. It has more than paid off!

The question now though is will he be able to set the World Cup alight and drive his country forward. He has the disadvantage of being from a smaller country that will over rely on him for results. But that is what could put him on a different level in my opinion. Can he drive a team forward, be the main player and make things happen?

I guess the wait for that is almost over, although he might only have two matches to show what he can do considering Egypt lost their opening game 1-0 to Uruguay.

Do you think he can show he is world class?
