Arsenal vs Tottenham

Coming up later today is the second matchday quarter-final stage of the EFL cup. Two London rivals will be taking on each other in a no-way-out derby showdown, to fight for a place in the semi-finals.

The gunners will be hosting Spurs later today, a match between two arch-enemies that promises to be an exciting fixture for both team and the fans.

Both teams have had their fair slice of ups and downs this season in the premier league, but have really been doing great in the League Cup.

Arsenal are trying to fight for every trophy they can lay their hands this season for a chance to land their first silverware under a new manager and a new style of football.

Spurs, on the other hand, have been doing well in this competition so far, this game will be an opportunity for them to progress and stand a chance to land their first piece of silverware for many years

On paper, this is a slightly even contest, as we have seen from their performances so far in the premier league and in this competition. Both teams are capable of getting the win and progressing to the next stage. It is a London derby showdown, so it will be more of a difficult battle for both teams today.

Arsenal vs Tottenham

This game is a much-anticipated fixture for the fans, but at the same time, it will be a nerve-racking game for the fans as well. One of the two teams will be exiting the competition later today.

For both teams, even though the competition isn’t the biggest, it will still be a very special and important match for the fans, so they will both want to try to fight and give everything to reach the semi-final stage.

For Arsenal, they are playing at the Emirates stadium and in front of their fans which will be a huge advantage for them, so they will be going into this game slightly more confident because they know how important the supporters and the atmosphere will be.

They know how dangerous this Spurs team are, so they will want to play their best and put in a quality performance to try to get the desired result out of the game.

For Spurs, they have not won a silverware for a long time, so this game will be a very important match for them. They know that playing this gunners team away isn’t an easy task, so they will be going into this game knowing fully well that they can get eliminated if they don’t play their best and put in a 100% performance.

My Expectations In Terms Of Tactics And Gameplay

For Arsenal, they will either lineup in a 3-4-3 formation or in their preferred 4-3-3 formation.

This is Emery first season in charge at Arsenal, so he will want to take this competition and try to land his first piece of silverware in his first spell in England. He is slowly getting the team to play the way he wants, which means they will most likely try to pass the ball and dictate the play. They also have very quick forward players which they will also want to use to hurt Spurs, especially during counter-attacks.

For Spurs, they will probably to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They have very energetic and fast players which help them in their pressing to try to win the ball as fast as possible. Kane is in great form this season, so they will want him to have as much of the ball as possible to cause Arsenal problems.

My Player of Focus

For me, there is no specific player of focus in this game. Both teams are packed with lots of talented players, so it will be difficult to really focus on a particular player.

Instead of focusing on a particular player in this fixture, I will rather put my focus on the overall teams to see how the players perform in this type of game where elimination is certain.

My Prediction

For me, I think this will be an exciting and entertaining encounter between two top London rivals.

The match will probably be an open game for both teams where we might see both teams scoring quite a number of goals in the match, but at the same time, I think it will also be a very close battle between the two teams.

This is just my opinion, so let’s wait and see what happens later today, we hope for an entertaining game of football for the fans to enjoy.

And that is a wrap…

Which team do you think will reach the semi-final stage?

I would love to read your own opinions… Enjoy your day.
