Liverpool vs Manchester United

The fixture every premier league fan have been waiting for is upon us. Matchday 23 continues and boy is it going to be an epic battle at Anfield between two rivals. Liverpool and Man United is set to clash at Anfield in a few hours’ time. It is a much-anticipated fixture as we look forward to an exciting game of football.

Liverpool are aiming for their 21st win in 22 games played which is considered a tremendous achievement so far. As we all know, they are the only team in the premier league, and probably the only team in Europe’s to 5 leagues to not lose any game up to this point. This shows the level which this Liverpool team has set. Looking at the premier league table right now, one will have to admit that the title race is realistically over and no one is catching Liverpool, as we all know the probability is really really really slim. But hey, football can be full of surprises and as far as it is technically possible, then nothing is impossible. The Reds will be facing Man United at home in few hours’ time for another chance to add more points clear at the top of the table.

In terms of formation and tactics, we are all expecting to see Liverpool set up in their usual 4-3-3 formation. As the home side, they are also expected to have more of the ball and to be more attacking and aggressive without the ball.

Man United are aiming to capitalize on Chelsea’s and Spurs poor results yesterday which will be a great step in the right direction for their top 4 targets this season. They haven’t been great in most of their games this season, however, their win in their last premier league fixture will serve as a big boost for them going into this game. They are going up against one of the Rivals especially back in the days, for the second time this season, the first which saw them produce a masterpiece to stop Liverpool’s winning streak, making them remain the only premier league team to prevent the Reds from racking up a jackpot of all wins in the premier league. Nevertheless, this fixture is different from the first and will most likely be a very difficult battle for United at Anfield. However, like we have always seen in this fixture, it can go either way as there are lots of factors that makes this game special not necessarily the form of both teams.

Man United will be expected to set up in similar 3-4-3 formation that saw them nullify Liverpool in the first meeting, however, they know that they will need to put in more work this time if they want to get anything out of this game.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
