The biggest premier league game of the week is upon us as the title race get even interesting. Liverpool will be locking horns against Man City at home for a chance to extend their lead at the top. An exciting fixture this is and a crucial one for both teams as the outcome of this game could have a big effect on the title race.

Liverpool are currently having a phenomenal season so far continuing from where they left off last season, narrowly losing out the premier league title to Man City with just a point difference and winning the champions league title. They face a very difficult game at home against their closest rival this season and for them, they will be aiming to extend the gap even further and continue their unbeaten run when they meet at Anfield later tomorrow.

Expected formation and tactics, Liverpool will be expected to set up in their usual 4-3-3 formation. They are one of the best teams when it comes to counter-attacks and quick transitions. They are also very good at pressing and direct attacking football. Their gameplan in this game will most likely be to try to suffocate Man City and try to exploit their weaknesses through quick counter-attacks and set pieces.

Man City are in fantastic form as well this season, similarly to Liverpool, they had a very successful season last season and won all domestic competitions. This season has been quite challenging for them as teams are getting better and better and they have somehow found themselves 6 points below Liverpool who are currently unbeaten in the league.

Expected formation and tactics, Man City will be expected to set up in their preferred 4-3-3 formation. They like to play in a certain way, however, Pep might be tempted to make adjustments to the way the team plays considering the form Liverpool are at the moment and how dangerous they are in quick counter-attacks.
