Everton vs Tottenham

The first part of this week’s premier league action is done and dusted as we look forward to the continuation of premier league matchday 11 actions later today. Spurs face yet another tricky test against Everton away at the Goodison Park as they aim to return to winning ways after 3 consecutive games without a win.

Everton have been pretty poor this season and their last 5 games in the premier league have seen them with only one win and four losses. They are currently sitting in 17th position, 10 points to their name. However, they are just 2 points below Spurs who are in 13th, which means a win at home today could take them 1 point above Spurs. None the less, this will be a very difficult game for Everton at home but at the same time, it is a winnable game as we have seen in the past.

Expected formation and tactics, Everton is expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They are a team that like to play football when they can and are also very good at counter-attacks. Playing against Spurs will be an exciting one as both teams play in a bit similar way. For Everton, they will try to attack at home and also utilize their qualities on the counter-attack to hurt Spurs.

Spurs are currently experiencing one of their worst seasons in the premier league since the past couple of years. The past 4 years have seen them stay close to the title race and finish in the top 4 for consecutively, however, this season has been downhill for them. Their form in their past 5 premier league games have been pretty poor based on their standards, they only managed 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses. They face another tricky game away against a good Everton side in terms of quality even though Everton is also not in a good form this season. However, they will be hoping to get things right this time and return back to winning ways after going 3 games straight without a win.

Expected formation and tactics, Spurs is expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-2-1-2 formation. They are not in a good form at the moment but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be up for this game. Their gameplan is mostly the same which is basically all about attacking and counter-attacking. They are not really into keeping too much of possession like Man City but love to keep the ball and dominate possession as much as possible. So for them, they will be looking to keep the ball and try to create chances through their quick attack and counter-attacking football.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
