Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Like I mentioned in my previous post yesterday, the ever-exciting premier league actions return this weekend with exciting and much-anticipated fixtures. Mikel Arteta continues to impress as Arsenal set to lock horns against Crystal Palace away at the Selhurst Park this Saturday.

Crystal Palace are doing pretty well at the moment and are currently above Arsenal with a point. They are playing at home and will be aiming to come out on top against Arsenal in this derby clash. They’ve drawn their last two premier league games and will be aiming to return to winning ways this Saturday. A difficult game for them at home against Arsenal who are looking rejuvenated at the moment, however, Crystal Palace have shown in the past that they are capable of upsetting any team in the premier league on their day.

Expected Formation and tactics… Crystal Palace will be expected to set up in a 4-5-1 formation. They will most likely set up in a low block tactics to not leave spaces for Arsenal to exploit. They will most likely have less of the ball even though they are playing at home and will be looking to capitalize on counter-attacking and set pieces as they major weapon to cause Arsenal problems.

Arsenal have shown improvements since Arteta took charge as the new club manager and they are slowly regaining their mojo back. Their last two games have seen them earn solid wins, most especially their huge victory against Man United. Their quest continues this Saturday as they will be involved in an exciting yet tricky London derby match against Crystal Palace. The Gunners are currently occupying the 10th position on the premier league table and a win could see them leapfrog two steps above to 8th. However, they are in a tricky position at the moment as a loss could see them drop down the table. Notwithstanding, Arsenal are expected to come out win all 3 points as they continue to fight and hope for top 4 finish this season.

Expected Formation and tactics… Arsenal will be expected to set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. They want to keep the ball and will most likely dominate possession against Crystal Palace. Their gameplan will be to keep their cool and try to control major aspects of the game at the same time, creating and converting their chances in the game.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
