Russia vs Belgium

The ongoing euro qualifiers campaign is getting more exciting each matchday. Matchday 9 has seen use witness lots of goals by some of the top teams in this competition so far. Coming up later today is the continuation of matchday 9 as Belgium is set to continue their 100% success rate in Group I against Russia at the Krestovsky Stadium.

Belgium have been superb in the group stage so far, winning all their games. They are in fabulous form at the moment and will be looking forward to claiming another 3 points against Russia. This fixture has little or no importance to Belgium considering that they have already qualified but they will be relishing the opportunity to complete the qualifiers group campaign with maximum points.

Expected formation and tactics, Russia will be expected to set up in a 3-4-3 or a 4-3-3 formation. They have so much qualities everywhere on the pitch and are filled with a lot of individual talents, so for them, it will be all about playing their game to try to create chances to win the game.

Russia are doing really well as well, they are just 3 points below Belgium and have won 7 out of the eight games they have played so far. This wouldn’t be an easy game for them but at the same time, they will be aiming to go top of the group if they are able to get the job done against Belgium.

Expected formation and tactics, Russia will be expected to set up in a 4-3-3 formation. For them, this is a must-win game for their ambitions to finish as group leaders. It wouldn’t be easy for sure but not impossible. Their gameplan in this game will be to try to prevent Belgium from having their way in this game and try to use their qualities in attack to hurt Belgium. Also, knowing that Belgium would want to have more of the ball and attack, they will also be looking to capitalize on counter-attacking opportunities to hurt Belgium.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
