Liverpool vs Barcelona

Coming up is the second leg of the champions league semifinal fixture. Liverpool who are at the point of losing yet another league title after coming very close will be trying to pull off an extremely difficult task, turning a 3 nil deficit against Barcelona at Anfield. This is a very crucial game for the reds if they reach the finals back-to-back, and also to try to win a prestigious title, as the premier league title is nearly slipping beyond their reach.

Liverpool are having a wonderful season so far and will inarguably be considered as their best season under Klopp and will be very proud of this season regardless of what happens at the end. The premier was their main target this season, but from the look of things, they will be putting all their eggs into this competition. Overturning a 3 nil deficit against Barca isn’t the wish of any team in world football, but it is not an impossible mission as we have seen in the past.

Barcelona are already La Liga champions but are also aiming to lift this competition yet again after losing out to their arch rival for consecutive seasons. They are going into this game not only as favorites in this fixture but also favorites to win the competition. Nonetheless, the tie isn’t over yet for them as they still have a lot of work to do at Anfield, especially on a ground that is known to pull off heroic performances in a champions league night.

Liverpool vs Barcelona

This is an extremely crucial fixture for both sides who are aiming to win the competition, even though it is Barca currently have the upper hand in terms of the aggregate result.

For Liverpool, they are playing at home and will want the fans to be behind them as they try to do what they are known for in this competition. As things stand at the moment, they are the underdogs based on aggregates but will be throwing everything they have into this game to try to turn the table around, as their hopes of winning the premier league title is almost slipping away from them.

For Barcelona, they know that even though they are in the driving seat at the moment, the tie is far from being over, as Liverpool have everything it takes to overturn the deficit at home. Nevertheless, they would be going to Anfield to win and will give everything to try to get the job done, as they aim to achieve yet another target.

My Expectations in Terms of Tactics and Gameplay

For Liverpool, they will most likely set up in a 4-3-3 formation. They are aiming to win by at least 3 goals without conceding to ensure progress, which means it will most likely be an all-out attack game for them at home. For Klopp and his Liverpool side, they will be disappointed for letting the premier league title possibly slip away from them, but will at the same time be proud for what the team has done this season and how they have surpassed their last season’s achievements. They will want to crown all their efforts and hard work with a major trophy, which makes this game a do-or-die fixture for them.

For Barcelona, they will most likely set up in a 4-4-2 formation like they did in the first leg. They don’t need to win this, all they need is to avoid defeat or at least avoid losing with anything more than 2 goals. Their aim will be to score the crucial away goal, but also will be looking to win the game if they get the opportunity. Their gameplan will almost not change, and they will want to utilize their greatest attacking weapon in Messi to hurt Liverpool.

And that is a wrap…

What do you think will be the outcome of this game?

I would love to read your own opinions… Enjoy your day.
