It was the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 as Chelsea who are taking the competition very seriously got the job done against Dynamo Kiev at their own ground. Obliteration, annihilation was the outcome of this fixture as Chelsea comfortably breezed past Dynamo 5-0 to book their spot in the quarterfinals.

It was a happy ending to the round of 16 for the Chelsea fans, a fantastic result to send a strong message to the rest of the remaining teams. For Chelsea, it was a crucial victory as they keep pushing for one of their major targets this season.

The majority of the talking points around Chelsea at the moment is whether they will qualify for the champions league for next season, but they are still very much in contention in their quest for champions league qualification.

Brief Post-Match Analyses

It was an exciting atmosphere once again at the bridge prior to the game but later turned out to be a happy outing for the fans as Chelsea totally wiped out Dynamo Kiev 5 nil to put themselves a step closer to their target this season.

For the Chelsea fans, it was a game were the team needed to see off the tie as they were already on a 3 nil aggregate lead. Chelsea setup in their usual 4-3-3 formation, while Dynamo Kiev setup in their preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

The game began and Chelsea immediately took control of the game, having more of the ball possession and got their reward very early in the game before going on to complete the annihilation. Dynamo had a few moments but were not clear chances to actually trouble the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Giroud was the goal scorer for Chelsea in the 5th minute, as he tapped in from close range from a corner kick.

Giroud was on the scoresheet yet again in the 33rd minute as he met a perfect through pass from Alonso to tap the ball into the net. At this point, it was basically game over for Dynamo Kiev.

Alonso added his name to the score sheet few seconds to halftime as he tapped in from close range after a nice cutback pass from Hudson Odoi.

Giroud finally got his deserved hat trick for the night in the 59th minute as he rose highest to head in from a Willians free kick cross.

Hudson-Odoi who is known as the CHOsen one set the fans at the top of their voices with their cheers as he once again proved why the fans love him and want the manager to play him more often, with a very nice goal from a nice through pass from Giroud in the 78th minute.

A great win for Chelsea as they keep fighting for their targets this season. The Quarterfinal draw will be coming up next, let’s hope for exciting matchups and a great quarterfinal encounter for the fans to enjoy.
