It has been an exciting champions league week, yesterday was a pretty entertaining one as we witnessed a good number of exciting fixtures. Coming up later today is the continuation of the ongoing champions league with lots of exciting fixtures lined up. Chelsea will be facing Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena for a chance move to second place on the group a table. This is an exciting and much-anticipated fixture as lots of eyeballs will be on this one to see how these two teams with exciting young talents will fare when they face each other later today.

Ajax have been one of the most exciting young teams in the past few years and last season was one of their standout seasons especially in the champions league when they knocked out the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus and was just a little closer to making the champions league finals but ended up losing out to Spurs who pulled off a remarkable comeback to deny Ajax the finals. This season, they have begun strongly as expected and are currently leading Group H with maximum points in the bag and are arguably the favourites to make it out of the group. They face a difficult game tonight against Chelsea who have been likened to Ajax based on how they both utilize young and academy players and also how they love to play. They are the favourites at home, however, they have to be wary about Chelsea’s qualities, knowing that Chelsea are one of the top teams in Europe and can get the job done against any team in world football.

Expected formation and tactics, Ajax will most definitely set up in their preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. We all know how Ajax likes to play, and for them, it will be a matter of playing their game and trying to utilize their qualities when it comes to high energy pressing and counter-attack to hurt Chelsea.

Chelsea in contrast to Ajax didn’t began their champions league campaign on a positive note sue to their 1 nil loss at home against Valencia, a similar story how they kickstarted their premier league campaign with a loss as well. However, things are looking really bright for the blues as they have really pushed their opening day losses behind them are in a very good position both in the premier league and in the champions league. They face one of their most difficult game the season against a very good and energetic Ajax side tonight. A much-anticipated and exciting fixture that will draw a lot of attention. This is a very crucial game for Chelsea as a win would see them go on level points with Ajax, give them a greater chance of making it out of the group.

Expected formation and tactics, Chelsea is expected to set up in their preferred 4-3-3 formation or its variation. Like we have seen in most of the games so far this season, they love to attack and also high energy pressing, at the same time, they want to have the ball and control the game. They can be pragmatic when it necessary and play more on the counter-attack which gives them so many options to hurt the opponent. It will be exciting to see how they play against a team that play almost in the same way.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
