The ongoing FA Cup showdown continues today as there are lots of fixtures still left to kick off. Liverpool who are soaring high in the premier league will be locking horns against Everton at home as they aim to continue their league form into this FA cup competition.
Liverpool are having the season they have always wished for and have kept on showing improvement each season. It is all in their hands now this season to make history as they will only have themselves to blame if they fail to clinch their first-ever premier league title and make history. The premier league is undoubtedly their top-most priority this season, however, it doesn’t mean that they are not aiming to win the FA Cup as they are in this competition to win it. They will be facing a difficult test at home against Ancelotti’s Everton, a familiar figure they know much about after their series of encounters in the champions league. A tricky game for the Reds, however, they are expected to come out with the win.
Expected Formation and tactics… Liverpool will be expected to set up in their preferred 4-3-3 formation. They are playing at home, so we are expecting them to have more of the ball and attack more. They will be looking to utilize their attacking and counter-attacking qualities to get the job done at home.
Everton have found a new life under new manager Ancelotti after their season looked already lost with their series of back-back defeats. Things are looking very good for them at the moment and they are becoming strong favourites to finish in the top half of the premier league table. The FA cup is a competition Ancelotti knows very well from his days at Chelsea and he will be aiming to utilize that knowledge to try to get the better of Liverpool at Anfield.
Expected Formation and tactics… Everton will be expected to set up in a 4-4-2 formation. They know how good Liverpool are and especially at Anfield, so for them, it will be a matter of being very solid and disciplined at the back. Nevertheless, they like to play football as well and will be aiming to utilize their chances in the game effectively to cause Liverpool problems.
