Manchester United

It is just a matter of few weeks before the new season, the 2020/2021 premier league season kicks off. Lots of anticipation as we all hope for a great new season. Man United has always been a team that is talked about by many due to their prestige as one of the biggest clubs in world football, and also their years of dominance under Sir Ferguson. However, things haven’t remained the same for them since Ferguson retired from the club and since then, it has been a downward trend for them.

This hasn’t stopped the Red Devils from being in the mouths of fans and pundits either by criticism or by pure banter by rival fans. Nonetheless, things are looking a bit bright for them especially since the restart of the just-completed season and their form has been pretty good for the majority of the ending parts of the season. Solskjaer has succeeded in leading Man United to a top 3 finish – Top 4 finish they’ve missed out of for quite some time now. So for them, it was a really successful 2019/2020 season even though they failed to win any trophy – as they look forward to doing better when the new season kicks off in few weeks’ time.

Based on how good Man United’s front 3 which comprised of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood looked last season and the goals they scored and how potent they looked after the restart, a lot of talking point have surfaced whether they now have the second-best front 3 behind Liverpool who arguably have the best front 3 of Mane, Firmino and Salah… For me, I think Man United front 3 at the moment is very potent and have goals in them, but I don’t think they will be or are the second-best front 3 in the premier league. Maybe they were last season, but will be difficult next season.

On paper, Man United’s front 3 look great and are more settled compared to the new ones we might see next season – The likes of Chelsea are building something great at the moment – Pulisic, Werner and Ziyech look amazing as well, however, even though they are all quality players individually, they’ve not played together yet, so no one can tell how they will perform together. Nevertheless, it is logical to assume that Chelsea could have a devastating and dangerous front 3 and attacking force when these new signings gel together. With that aside, I still think Man United front 3 is very good and are very dangerous to play against on their day – only time will tell to see how good they will come next season and if they can be a force enough to claim the status of the second-best front 3 in the league.

What do you think? – Do you think Rashford – Martial – Greenwood is the second-best front 3 in the premier league behind Liverpool’s front 3?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
