Liverpool vs Sheffield United

The second day of the New Year is already going on pretty well. Yesterday was really amazing with so much excitements and joy for the New Year as we look forward to more fun, greatness and all the good things of life. The midweek premier league actions which kicked off yesterday was amazing as always and as always it was packed with so much excitements and at the same time disappointments, which makes football such an amazing sports.

Liverpool still remains the only standout performers this season and still remain the only premier league team that hasn’t lost any match so far and haven’t dropped more than 2 points so far this season. It has been a remarkable upward motion for the Reds, reaching the finals of the champions league 2 seasons ago, winning it last season and narrowly losing out of the premier league title and now, they are already over 14 points clear at the top of the premier league table and without a doubt clear favourites to run away with the premier league title this season. They are still in the champions league but their main priority still remains to make history by winning their first-ever premier league title and having that trophy in their cabinet as one of the most successful clubs in English football. Liverpool face a tricky test at home against Sheff United who have been pretty impressive as a newly promoted side this season. However, Liverpool are expected to get the job done as it is very difficult to pick any team who can stop Liverpool at the moment.

Expected formation and tactics – Liverpool as we all know will set up in a 4-3-3 formation. For them, nothing much changes in terms of style of play and gameplay as they will want to keep the same level of determination and focus that have seen them stay unbeaten up till this point and try to get the job done to continue drawing closer to the end goal.

Sheff United like I said above have impressed a lot this season with the way they’ve performed in most of their games so far, including the ones they’ve dropped points. They have their own style of play which is working for them as they aim to impress and try to be the first team to stop Liverpool this season. They are currently sitting 8th on the premier league table and an unbelievable win later today against Liverpool would put them above Spurs who are in 6th. A very difficult game for the Blades away from home, and even though they are the underdogs in this fixture, they cannot be completely written off as we all know that football is filled with a lot of surprises and also the Blades have the qualities to upset Liverpool if they put in a performance above 100%.

Expected formation and tactics – Sheff Unied will be expected to set up in a 3-5-2 formation. Their gameplan in this game will most likely be to be very tight at the back and try to utilize their qualities in the wide areas, crosses into the box and set pieces to cause Liverpool problems.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
