Aston Villa vs Manchester City

This week’s premier league actions have been amazing as turn our attention to the remaining fixtures of matchday22. Coming up later today is the much-anticipated premier league fixture as Man City is set to face Aston Villa away at the Villa Park.

Aston Villa are in a very difficult position at the moment, just 1 point outside the relegation zone. To make the matter worse, they are going up against Man City, which we all know is a huge mountain to climb for any team in the premier league. This is a very crucial game for Villa as a loss could see them drop into the relegation zone. They need a win or at least a draw to have a chance of maintaining their position. Even though the odds are seriously against Aston Villa in this fixture, we wouldn’t write them off completely as we all know what football is all about… full of surprises.

Expected Formation and tactics… Aston Villa will be expected to set up in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 formation. They love to play attacking football and will not be scared to take the game to Man City. However, they know fully well that they would suffer for long periods of the game which gives them a great opportunity to utilize their counter-attacking qualities when the chances come.

Man City now have a great opportunity to claim second position on the table after Leicester City who have been in flying form this season, lost against in-form Southampton. Man City are in a good form at the moment, winning their last 2 premier league games and looking forward to making it 3 wins in a row when they face Aston Villa at Villa Park later today. A great opportunity for them to continue putting pressure on Liverpool, even though realistically, we all have to accept that the league is in the hands of Liverpool. A tricky game for City, however, they are expected to get all 3 points and continue to fuel their hopes and optimism in the title race.

Expected Formation and tactics… Man City will be expected to set up in a 4-3-3 formation. They are one of the few teams in the premier league that have a specific style of play. They will obviously have a slightly different approach to the game but will most likely maintain their preferred style of play. They will be looking to keep and control possession and try to create as many chances in the game to either get the job done or to score as many goals as possible.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?

I would love to read your thoughts and opinions… Enjoy your day.
