Bournemouth vs Manchester City

Coming up this Sunday is the continuation of the premier league matchday 3 actions, one of many exciting fixtures set to kick off this weekend. Man City who had to settle with an equal share of the pie against Spurs in their encounter last weekend, will lock horns against Bournemouth who have begun their premier league campaign really well. Both teams are on the same points so far and will be looking extend their points on the table coming this Sunday.

Bournemouth are doing pretty well at the moment and have gotten off on a good start, 4 points in their last 2 games is something they will be happy about especially in a very tough league like the premier league. They will be hosting the treble winners Man City for their third game of the season, a game that promises to be a huge mountain for them to climb. They are the underdogs even though they are playing at home, however, they are capable of upsetting the current title holders and in football, what is on paper doesn’t matter but what happens on the pitch.

In terms of expected formation and tactics, Bournemouth have already made use of two different formations in their last two games this season, they have set up in a 3-4-2-1 and 4-4-1-1 formation. For this fixture against Man City, they will possibly set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, as they will be looking to be compact at the back and try to capitalize on counter-attacking and set-piece opportunities to hurt City at home.

Man City would have hoped to have been at this point with maximum points, but wouldn’t be disappointed in their draw against Spurs as it was a fair result for both teams. This season will be another challenge for them as they will be looking to equal or do better than what they achieved last season. On paper, they are the clear favorites in this fixture and will be aiming to return back to winning ways this Sunday.

In terms of the Man City expected formation and tactics, they will most likely set up in their usual 4-3-3 formation. As usual, Pep will want his team to keep the ball, control the game and try to find spaces and create chances through their clever passing and movements.

A very difficult game for Bournemouth at home, but like we have seen in the past, football is all about what happens on the pitch. For Man City, this is more of a tricky fixture for them as Bournemouth could prove to be a tough nut to crack at the Dean Court.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
