Manchester City vs Everton

It has been an amazing premier league matchday 20 so far as the title race and top 4 race keep getting more exciting each matchday. Midweek premier league showdown continues this Wednesday as there are lots of games lined up. Man City is set to face Everton at home as they keep their title race optimism going.

Man City have had their fair share of ups and downs recently and have found themselves 14 points behind Liverpool who are clearly looking likely to run away with the premier league title this season, and are more than likely to go 17 points behind if Liverpool wins their outstanding match. Notwithstanding, Man City are not giving up on their title race quest as they are still keeping their optimism alive and running. They will be facing Ancelotti’s Everton side at home when the midweek premier league games kicks off this Wednesday. A tricky fixture for them as they know that a loss in this fixture could realistically mean that it is game over for them in their title quest.

Expected formation and tactics – Man City will be expected to set up in their usual 4-3-3 formation. Their gameplan will most likely remain the same with probably a few tweaks in certain aspects of the game to get the job done against Everton.

Everton have looked revived ever since they took the smart step to hire one of the prestigious and best managers in world football. They are currently unbeaten in their last 5 games and on a run of back-to-back wins and will be aiming to continue in the same manner against Man City at the Etihad Stadium. A very difficult fixture for Everton against the premier league champions, however, with the way Everton has done in their last 5 games, it is logical to say that they have a chance at the Etihad and can cause Man City a lot of problems.

Expected formation and tactics – Everton will be expected to set up in a 4-4-2 formation. They are performing well at the moment under the new manager and will be looking to take their recent form and confidence into this game. Their gameplan will most likely be to stay very compact and play more as a unit and try to utilize their attacking and counter-attacking qualities to cause Man City a lot of problems.

What do you think will be the outcome of this fixture?
