Ever since the premier league ended a few months ago, the excitements for next season kicked off as fans are really anticipating and can’t wait for next season to watch their new signings begin action. As we all know, premier league actions for the 2020/2021 season kicks off in a matter of weeks, next month and as always, lots of speculations, predictions and talking points are flying around already.
The just-completed 2019/2020 premier league season saw Liverpool win the premier league title for the first time in their history – Man City, Man United and Chelsea claiming the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots respectively. We all know how tough the top 4 race was that it even went on till the last match of the premier league season to be decided. Looking at that, it is obvious why the fans are beginning to make predictions to which teams they feel will occupy the top 4 positions next season. prior to the first game of last season, a lot of fans and pundits made their premier league top 4 predictions for the 2019/2020 season, however, only very few got close while the others totally failed in their predictions as Chelsea who a lot of fans and pundits wrote off in the top 4 were just some goal difference shy of finishing in the top 3.
Nonetheless, predictions for any new season doesn’t end and it is part of the fun and excitements as we anticipate a fresh new season. For me, I think next season will be a really exciting one as there are a good number of quality signings coming into the premier league. This means that a lot of teams will get stronger, most especially the top teams, making the top 4 race even more competitive. If I am to make my top 4 predictions, I think Liverpool might be too strong for the rest and might retain the premier league title back-to-back. Man City and Chelsea might battle it out for the top 2 positions and if Man United gets things right, they have what it takes to secure a top 4 finish back-to-back. Nonetheless, the likes of Wolves, Arsenal could be a very strong force next season and will be definitely up there fighting for the top 4 positions.
