The pressure is always there for anyone who has got the manager's seat at Old Trafford. But it's even more intense when the team is performing so badly under that manager's guidance. This is the place Olé Gunnar Solskjaer finds himself currently.
"The spotlight should be on me because I'm the manager and I'm responsible," Solskjaer told a news conference on Friday. Of course it's what every manager will do.
Is the team's disappointing start to the season all down to the manager? Well, it's high time Olé showed that some of the big names in the squad also merit some of the blames for their poor start to the season.
It's time for Solskjaer to take some tough decisions as regards who he picks in the next couple of games starting with their visit to St. James' Park to tackle Newcastle United later today.
Club captain Harry Maguire has come under intense scrutiny over his poor run of form. It is no secret that he's also recently had a tough time off the pitch with the incident in Greece. As a result questions have been raised if it's wise for the manager to pick him for today's game. But it's been confirmed that Maguire is nurturing injury he picked up in the England game. So he'll most likely not feature in the game.
France midfielder, Paul Pogba and Spaniard, David De gea are also two underperforming big names. Solkjaer has got another tough decision to make as regards both players. It's time to throw them on the bench and start trusting the new arrivals in the team (Donny Van De Beek and Dean Henderson) to take their place in the starting line-up and play regularly.
The news has also been making the rounds that Max Allegri and Mauricio Pochetino are touted as possible replacement for him if he doesn't turn things around drastically. So it's now or never for Olé Gunnar Solskjaer.
