In the remaining World Cup matches, Brazil can not count on the right back Danilo, who damaged his ankle ligaments during a training. He will not be able to recover during the next 10 days, so even in case Brazil reach the final, Danilo will not play at the tournament any more.

Actually the 26-year-old Manchester City defender has featured just once at the World Cup, in the opening game against Brazil. Then he got a thigh injury and was replaced by Fagner in subsequent matches. A few days ago, Danilo appeared to be fit and ready for the quarter-final against Belgium, but after another injury, he can not participate in the match.

Right back position seems to be quite vulnerable for Brazil, as Dani Alves was also injured a few weeks before the World Cup and had to miss the tournament. So the head coach Tite has to rely on Fagner from Corinthians, who is normally just the third-choice right back.

As for Danilo, he will stay with the team until the end of the tournament anyway. Actually the player will turn 27 on 15 July - on the very day of the World Cup final!
