The 2nd Division in Belgium Champion who promotes to the 1st division will be known next week after 2 test matches between KV Mechelen and Beerschot WIlrijk the next 8 days. Tonight there is the first match that will be played in Beerschot and it's the only match on the program in Belgium today. I will be watching it live on TV even though I generally don't really follow the 2nd division that much.

Beerschot Wilrijk vs KV Mechelen

These 2 teams are the giants in the 2nd division. That league is played with 8 teams over 2 periods. Both period champions play each other in a test match at the end of the season. KV Mechelen had a poor start of the season but set an impressive run afterward and was able to seal the Championship already if they managed to come out on top in both periods. A total collapse in the match against Union where they lost at home with 0-5 along with a late 1-1 against Lommel has put them in a very difficult spot now having to play 2 matches where the new Champion is decided. The mental aspect is not the be underestimated and they clearly cracked under the pressure the last 2 matches. Beerschot is a team with a great fan base that managed to climb up quickly after they were put in a low amateur league because of financial issues if I remember correctly. They also somewhat cracked under the pressure late in the season with 2 draws against Leuven and Roeselare and were lucky that KV Mechelen didn't finish the job.

These kinds of do or die test matches tend to start out with a lot of nerves and lack of quality because of the importance but also because it is decided over 2 encounters. Away goals always count double in these situations. I do not expect a good 1st half and l took a pre-game bet on the Beerschot Wilrijk vs KV Mechelen 1st Half Under 1 @ 1.842 as average odds that I managed to get on Sportmarket Pro. I did not take extra on it in BTC since Nitrogensports does not have it available and I'm not willing to track it in my results with the 1.77 odds on Sportsbet.io even though those can be boosted to 1.82 which I would take with the daily promo boost.
