A small goal scoring against promoted Cardiff City, Liverpool has taken the league leaders in the English Premier League - at least for now.
With 4: 1 defeated the team of Jürgen Klopp promoted Cardiff City. Mohamed Salah (10) brought the Reds early on the winning road after the guests could not clear the ball after a Liverpool attack from the penalty area.
Liverpool dominated the game and had at times 85 percent possession of the ball. The 2-0 by Sadio Mané (66th) after a nice single action was consistent.
But Cardiff sought his chance and sank his first shot on goal consistently. Callum Paterson (77 ') poked the ball somewhat happily past LFC keeper Alisson Becker.
Who scented the chance for the underdog, but was disappointed. Xherdan Shaqiri (85.) and again Sadio Mané (87.) made the victory for Liverpool perfect.
Liverpool are now unbeaten with 26 points at the top of the table in the Premier League. Manchester City have 23 points, but still play against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. Since the Citizens have the better goal difference, they could win back the championship lead with a victory.
