Hello friends how is the weekend going over there? Its another weekend of intense football fixtures and it promise to be an interesting weekend for all soccer fans.

Football from all over the world this weekend will be a cracker personally i will be watching the best and most challenging league in the world. Infact its the most lucrative football league in the world which is non other than the English Premier League.

Ofcourse the La Liga Satanda, the Italian Seria A and the German Bundesliga not to forget the French League 1 all promises to make the weekend juicy for the football fans all over the world. Before i proceed i will like to focus the attention of this post on the pitch where all the wonders of football happens. After all this is about my best first five iconic football pitch (stadium) in the world.

  • WEMBLEY STADIUM OLD/NEW

Wembley stadium without doubt is one of the most iconic stadium in world football both the old/new Wembley. It is the home of the English football. It is located in London, England and have a capacity of 90,000 sits. It is truly iconic as it holds so many sports not just football, sports like Rugby, Boxing, Athletics and American football. It has a first record attendance of 89,874 in a game which is played between Cardiff city and Portsmouth on 17th May 2008.

Wembley stadium is built in such a way that it can host all the sport even mentioned above but it will be reduced to about 60,000 capacity in this process.

It serves as a temporary home to Tottenham football club and its one of the most expensive football pitch in the world. It was said to have first been founded in 1923 as far back as football history goes.

  • SAN SIRO

San siro is rooted mostly in italian culture because of its status and culture. It has hosted many bigger event around the world of football and entertainment. It serves as home ground to both the two most successful football club in italy Inter-Milan and Ac-Milan.

It was completed in 1926 with capacity to accommodate 80,018 crowd, making it the largest stadium in Italy and also among the largest stadium in the world. It hosted 8 major event in the world, firstly the world cup in 1934 followed by another world cup in 1990, then Euros in 1980, Finally the final of European championship now Uefa champions league (UEFA) on four occasions. 1965, 1970, 2001 and 2016.

Its popularly called SAN-SIRO because that ia the common name for Guiseppe Meazza something related to both clubs.

  • LA-BOMBONERA STADIUM

La-bombonera is one of the best and iconic south american pitch, the "Estadio Alberto J. Armando (Formerly the "Estadio Camilocichoa is an association football stadium)

It is widely called La-bombonera Translated to mean _**The chocolate box**_ in English due to its shape with a flat stand and on two to three other stands towards the rest.

Its capacity is 49,000 crowd. It was completed in 1940 by Boca juniors, it is located in Buenos Ares, Argentina. It has a record attendance of 57,393 on 25th may 1940, between Boca juniors and San lorenzo. The stadium was originally founded on 18th february 1938 but was recently renovated in 1995-96. The present owner is Boca juniors since 1940 till date.

  • MARACANA STADIUM

Maracana is truthfully one of the wonders in world football it is located in Narrow Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It has a capacity of 78,838 with record attendance of 199,854 on 16th of July 1950. Formerly referred to as Estadio do Maracana.

The stadium was founded in 1948 and opened on 16th June 1950, it was renewed 3 times in 2000, 2006 and 2013.

It was opened in 1950 when it hosted the then two giant footballing country, Brazil and Uruguay in which the result was in favour of Uruguay beating Brazil 2-1 in front of a crowd of 199,852 on the 16th July 1950.

The stadium has hosted many European competition and several world cup. It hosted the 2014 world cup though its original capacity has been reduced to current 78,822 but its still the largest football pitch in brazil.

  • CAMP NOU

Camp Nou which means "New Camp" is one of the iconic stadium in the world. It is located in Barcelonia, Spain and it is home to Barcelonia football club. The stadium is the largest in Europe and also prove to be the second most largest football stadium in the world of football.

It is founded by Barcelonia in the year 1957, it has hosted in the past great and meaningful football match in club football history including the 1982 world cup opening game. It has also hosted top tier football competition on many occasion such as the UCL on two Seperate occasions, 1989 and 1999. It also hosted the 1992 summer Olympics.

Since the inception of the stadium the team went on 13 game unbeaten run on home ground before the streak was broken by their eternal rival Real Madrid.
