The Premier League board has sadly announced that Aston Villa vs Burnley fixture has been postponed. This decision was reached due to increasing positive cases of Covid-19 infection in the Villa camp. The games was placed to kickoff today at 15:00 GMT.
Given the state of Covid-19 crises in the UK, the Premier League board is regularly considering various clubs' requests to postpone games. This is now the sixth game to be postponed in this matchweek, leaving just four fixtures left to be played barring any further postponement.
Talks of a Premier League Shutdown
There have been numerous reports of a premier league shutdown for the rest of the year due to the rampaging infection of the Omicron variant in the UK. It becomes even more likely with the constant rise in positive cases clubs are reporting.
If the shutdown eventually happens, it will be only ideal as the health of players, staff and fans are more important than the sport itself.
Frustration All Over
This for sure is another frustrating week for Premier League fans all over the world as games are continuously being postponed. 😔😔
