Everton vs Manchester City

Everton Team News

In his press conference, Everton boss Rafa Benitez provided updates on his squad. From that updates, it's clear that a host of his players are facing spells on the sideline due to major injury crises.

The boss confirmed that defender Yeri Mina (hamstring injury) midfielders Andre Gomes (calf injury), Abdoulaye Doucoure (foot injury), Tom Davies (knee injury) and striker Dominic-Calvert Lewin (quadriceps injury) will all miss the game against Manchester City.

Benitez stressed the need for all players to be allowed sufficient time to heal properly considering the type of injuries they're carrying. Doucoure and Lewin will be the longest of absentees as they'll still need 2-3 weeks in their rehabilitation program.

Manchester City Team News

It has been confirmed that Manchester City will be without their creator-in-chief Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian returned from his home country with a positive Covid-19 test and will be isolating for 10 days. Manager Pep Guardiola didn't focus his attention on how KDB's absence will affect his team, rather he spoke affectionately about him recovering well.

Guardiola also provided updates on English duo Phil Foden and Jack Grealish. Grealish returned from the England camp ahead of schedule due to an injury concern. Phil Foden is also a doubt as he also returned to the Manchester City Football Academy with a foot problem.
